I was not prepared for cold weather riding.
I did not bring a sweatshirt or any thick jacket. The only jacket I have is a mesh jacket made for hot weather riding - which is what I was told to expect a lot of.
Riding through the Northwest these past couple days has been very chilly at night. I try and huddle close to the engine to get some heat from that. And I have been using my rain gear and jacket liner as additional layer, but they had a minimal effect.
Last night riding down the Northern California coastline with the ocean breeze I could not take it anymore.
In place of stopping at the Target in Eureka I decided to use what I had and layer up.
I ended up with 9 layers of tops on. It kept my core warm. My legs were still a bit cold and I was wishing I had some thick full gloves on - my gloves are also for hot weather with mesh webbing for airflow.
